The List

Hump this

Socialize: Old Town Social
455 W North Ave, at Cleveland; Old Town; 312.266.2277

Setting out to seamlessly infuse some turn-of-the-century elegance into your classic neighborhood bar, OTS mixes luxurious touches like marble bartops, a fireplace, and a vintage shoe shine station with a menu crafted by a Blackbird vet that infuses blue collar classics with classy elements: crispy pork belly and heirloom tomatoes on the BLT, crispy duck with harissa and cucumber raita fulfilling your wing cravings, and a dedicated charcuterie bar dealing out sopressata, chorizo, and Kentucky Country ham, which everyone kind of gives a free pass for its suspect relationship with its first cousin, bacon.
Whet your appetite with a gaze at the full menu right here

Thrillist - Lingerie Football League Season Opener
Ogle: Lingerie Football League Season Opener
9pm Friday: Sears Centre, 5333 Prairie Stone Pkwy; Hoffman Estates; 847.649.2270

Those who have spent the last few weeks drooling over Jay Cutler can divert their attention for a day as the Lingerie Football League kicks off its inaugural season Friday night with the hometown Chicago Bliss taking on the Miami Caliente at the Sears Centre. Those looking for some extra curricular festivities can arrive as early as 3pm for some tailgating that will include BBQ, football challenges, and player meet-and-greets, where you can finally answer the question, "Is it more awkward to ask Olin Kreutz to sign your chest, or for you to ask to sign theirs?".
Get ticketing info and a look at the assets on this season's squad at LingerieBowl.com

Game On: Smirnoff
Pre-game essentials: music, fascinating kitchenware, and a classic vodka cocktail mixed with Smirnoff. Get tips on all that, plus an amazing joke about the home country of Hedo Turkoglu, at there.smirnoff.com

Thrillist - Rustico Grill
Eat: Rustico Grill
2515 N California, btw Altgeld and Logan; Logan Square; 773.235.0002

The team behind Mixteco Grill has moved into the old Rustik space and made a few changes, adding a massive chandelier made from wrought iron and bronze-painted gourds to brighten up the lodge-like stone and wood space, and a liquor license to differentiate the new spot from their other BYOB digs. Enjoy a margarita with their signature Oaxacan moles, like the Borrego en Mole Negro, a wood grilled rack of lamb in a black mole with garlic mashed potatoes, and the Chuleta en Mole Manchamanteles, a pork chop sidekicked with plantains, mashed sweet potatoes, chorizo, and grilled pineapple, and covered in a "sweet" mole that loves cuddling and Kit Kittredge movies.
Print this out and present it for one free house marg (1 per customer) through September, and figure out the rest of your order with the full menu, right here

Thrillist - Novem/Delicious Designs Collab Posters
Buy: Novem/Delicious Designs Collab Posters
1104 N Ashland Ave, btw Haddon and Thomas; Ukrainian Village; 773.698.6990

The talented artists from Novem and Delicious Designs have chosen to join forces to the tune of a series of six limited edition 18 X 24'' posters, with several of them playing on decidedly mammalian themes, including a fierce-looking, flowing-maned lion's head with a yellow/blue background and an almost Don Johnson-esque Zebra rocking a white suit leaning up against the hood of his ride, which intentionally does not have Racing Stripes.
A couple of the prints are also avail on tees, so scope them all at NovemLife.com
